"THEY HAVE CUT MY LAUGHTER'S NERVE"

                It seems that cancer when it comes to Ego is considered like an external object. So I often wonder who is my co-speaker, who transmits the "information"? The person that I have across me with a historical and administrative Ego, or an Ego-Ideal , "heir" of narcissism under the form of a cell cancer that obstructs the hole created by the psychic lack and creates the desire?
"I am cured" says Fritz Zorn in his book and many patients make fundamental changes in their lives, most of them have to do with an new staring up function.  The function of "mentalization".  Do changes really happen concerning the "operative life", a factual life without fantasy (phantasy), which is, according to Pierre Marty, the result within a system that is defensive and yet disorganizing in response to trauma. "Operative way of thinking", like Babis who   doesn't laugh anymore because "in the operating theater they damaged my nerve of laughter". Maria got a divorce ignoring her family and friends opinions. She got into puppet theater. Constantine, a teacher, after hours of sessions regarding a dream he had - if the destination of his voyage was Alexandria, city of his birth or Cythera (Baudelaire C., 1857 "A voyage to Cythera") decided to do an PHD on Baudelaire poetry. On his dream "he is on a boat heading to Cythera believing that he will find Alexandria there, that means his roots and happiness. A voice keeps saying to him to head east because "Cythera" is a lie. He will only find skeletons and not his family roots".  The process of change often reflects in dreams.  In the beginning of his therapy George dreamed the cure for cancer as "tiny soldiers that attack a big sparkling object". Anna, after 14 months of psychotherapy dreamed that "she held a baby in her arms and she was wondering whether is an angel and she should keep it, or something evil and she shoyld throw it away.". It was something evil!

                The start of change, also concerns the "essential depression", which involves, according to Pierre Marty, a reduction in the level of both object-libido and narcissistic libido, without any positive economic counterpart.
Alexandra when she was four years old was playing with her 3 years older sister and her 7 months old brother. They forgot the baby in the basement and he died. The weird thing is not only the fact that she mentioned the incident after a year and a half of therapy. (she claims she had forgotten about it and she rerely remembers it). But mainly what triggered that memory.  In our conversation she realizes that this memory rose two times in her life, the births of her two children. On the first birth she was diagnosed with breast cancer and on the second with bone cancer. These phenomena make me wonder if cancer works as "sensorial" or "autistic" object, precursor of a "transitional one".

           The paradox is that this particularly illness "works" with confused signs.
Patients with neoplasmatic disease seem to worship the "narcissism of death" (A, Green) or "Anubis" (B. Grunberger), which apparently substitutes the dysfunctional psychic procedures, promising "another life". "I am out of the picture" said Alexander reminding me of Cavafi's poem "Confusion".
Only now I realize what my professor Pierre Fedida was trying to explain when he has saying "suicide is a hymn of life". The "narcissistic" cancer cell which does not identify the healthy tissue next to it, the "narcissistic" cancer cell which does not "suicide" (apoptosis) since it doesn't allow the reduction of telomere at the sides of it's chromosome. (What an irony! Telomere is just the repeated sequence of nucleobases TTAGGG.  Does comparably the sequence SSAFFF  (sexuality, sexuality, ambiguity, frustration, frustration, frustration) leads to "trauma"? -sic-

           Cancer cell leads organism to an "oceanic existence (S. Ferenzi) out of space and time and out af ant boundaries. Cancer cell fills the "hole" that was created bu psychic lacks and seems to work as a regulating factor only that it tricks the Ego.
Finally, promising to Ego Ideal satisfaction, he pushes it against the Ego.
To conclude, the narcissistic cell pushes the Self to decline the instinctual fact, without any regulating function from a practically useless Super-Ego.


             My father taught me to express my thoughts simply. My professors aid my thought in far away journeys always with a constant stable point though. Also to study the human "infant" without neglecting the instinct (Trieb) and the object relationships.
I don't know if the notion of "Death instinct" is useful, as my professor Jean Laplanche wondered. The fact is that I deal with problems when I try to understand the somatization process behind a dualistic perspective.
Moreover the theories of Pierre Marty focused on the dysfunction of the preconscious, the arguments of Claude Smadja concerning the second topography, or the propositions of Christophe Dejours to create a third topography, can help us, but not enough.
Is it possible that different scientific areas transcending the dualistic barrier?
Philosophy and more specifically Plotinus who dealt with rational view of "dualistic monism". He taught that there is a supreme, totally transcendent "One", containing no division, multiplicity or distinction. Likewise it is beyond all categories of being and non-being. The first emanation from the "One" is "Nous" (logos).  From "Nous" proceeds the "World Soul" and from him the "Human Soul" and finally, the "Matter", at the lowest level of being.
Quantum physics theory must includes in psychoanalysis reflection at least regarding the bipolarity problem. Quantum theory gets over the problem of its own bipolarity of mass-energy by maintaining that space and time is some kind of web in an abstract multidimensional mattress whose fundamental units are  chords tht vibrate, those vibrations are the energy fields and particles that we observe as well as their usage.
Moreover, thw theory of quantuμ vacuum fluctuation can not have some elements in common with the concept of "analytic third" (Ogden), "Link" (Pichon-Rivière) or "Field or Vinculo" (Barranger's theory)??

Aristotle after his book "Physics", wrote thw book "Meta-physics", a book of Ontology wich deals with the "Being". Proposing a pun, I would say that his book "Meta-physics" means not only "after" the physics, but also "with" the physics.  (meta in greek means simultaneous "after" or "with").
